Why you need to tell your aluminium deodorant to stick it.

Why you need to tell your aluminium deodorant to stick it.

B.O. is the pits. Which is exactly why I've built a whole range of deodorants to fix them.

Four aluminium-free deodorants, each powered by a different hero ingredient, each doing something brilliant for your underarms beyond just keeping things fresh. Here are the burning questions babes have about ditching aluminium, answered.

What's the difference between antiperspirant and deodorant?

Antiperspirants stop sweat. Deodorants stop smells. The main ingredient in antiperspirants that minimises sweat is aluminium. It works by creating a gel-like film that seals sweat ducts, blocking the release of sweat from the glands in your precious pits.

Why go aluminium-free?

Because sweat is normal and natural, babe. You shouldn't have to block it, like you block the creeps in your DMs. Let your body do its natural thing and choose clean, odour-preventing ingredients instead. Plus, sweat is cool. Literally.

Aluminium has also attracted a lot of attention as an ingredient that can be absorbed through the skin. Bottom line: it's an ingredient usually followed up with a big question mark. Your skin is the largest organ, so whenever there's talk of potential side effects and if it's not clear whether an ingredient is safe to use, I'd rather keep it off your body and out of your bathroom.

Which deodorant is right for you?

Glad you asked. Here's the range:

My AHA Deodorant uses glycolic acid to tackle odour-causing bacteria while smoothing and resurfacing underarm skin over time. Best for babes who deal with rough texture, ingrown hairs, or post-shave irritation in the pit area.

My Niacinamide Deodorant brings the skin-evening, pore-minimising power of niacinamide to your underarms. Best for babes dealing with uneven skin tone or dark marks under the arms. (Handle unverified - confirm before upload.)

My Ceramide Deodorant is built for sensitive pits. Ceramides shore up the skin barrier and calm irritation, so you can stay fresh without the sting. Best for babes with reactive or easily irritated skin. (Handle unverified - confirm before upload.)

My Caffeine Deodorant brings a firming, energising hit to your underarms with caffeine as the hero. Best for babes who want to work a little harder under the arms. (Handle unverified - confirm before upload.)

What about during pregnancy?

When it comes to baby mummas, playing it safe is always the move. I'd recommend avoiding aerosols and products containing parabens. Swap them out for aluminium-free alternatives, and always check with your healthcare provider about specific ingredients during pregnancy and breastfeeding.

Ready to ghost your antiperspirant?

Ghost your aerosol, tell aluminium to stick it, and find the deodorant that's right for your pits. All four are aluminium-free, vegan, and cruelty-free.
