Try eat this, not that.

Try eat this, not that.

With most things, more is more. But with food, that can sometimes have adverse effects.

So let's try and limit some of those things, and increase others, like good moods, clear skin and a healthy weight, with a few simple food swaps.

Lemon water, not soda.

Did you know there are almost 10 cubes of sugar in a can of Coca-Cola? Scary, I know. If you're craving a sweet drink, try squeezing the juice of a lemon into your bottle of water. Freshly squeezed fruit juice and coconut water are also great alternatives, packed with vitamins and antioxidants.

Smashed avo, not spreads.

Step aside butter and jam. If you love your avocado, you'll be pleased to know it makes the perfect spread. As a monounsaturated fat, it's packed with nutrients and antioxidants. Just as creamy as butter. Smash it with a pinch of salt and pepper and you're done.

Yoghurt, not ice cream.

As much as I love all things creamy, I understand they're more of a special treat. If you're craving a guilt-free dessert, try a bowl of homemade froyo. Pop your tub of yoghurt in the freezer and add some fresh berries, coconut and nuts. Raspberries, blueberries and strawberries are packed with natural sugars and antioxidants. You're cutting out processed sugar and getting a solid hit of protein, calcium and potassium at the same time.

Quinoa instead of white rice.

C'mon babes, who even knows how to pronounce the word ("keen-wah"). Nonetheless, there's a reason it's considered a superfood. Gluten-free, high in fibre and high in protein. It's almost too good to be true.

Sweet potato fries for french fries.

Would you like fries with that? Not unless they're sweet potato. Cut yours into chunky fries, toss in oil and season with a sprinkle of salt or paprika. Delicious, and you're just eating a vegetable, babe.

A few ideas to make your diet as natural and wholesome as possible. And when in doubt, remember this: if you can't name all the ingredients in it, it's probably not the best for your bod.

And if you do accidentally reach for the french fries, no judgement. Just know that my coffee body scrubs are full of the same skin-loving natural ingredients you'd find on a good plate of food. That's the kind of babe I am.
