The benefits of vitamin B for your skin.

Ready for a lesson in my second favourite b-word?

Get hyped for the hardest-working letter in skincare. Introducing vitamin B.

Introducing vitamin B

Vitamin B is used so often in skincare because it's a hard-working all-rounder. Just like that one makeup brush you use for everything.

You've probably seen both vitamin B3 and vitamin B5 in your skincare ingredients. But other than sounding like something you'd find at the back of your vitamin drawer, what's the difference?

Vitamin B3, also known as niacinamide

Famous for:

  • Controlling sebum production.
  • Stimulating ceramide production for a healthy skin barrier.
  • Soothing inflammation.

What you'll notice:

  • Enlarged pores look smaller.
  • The word "dull" leaves your vocabulary.
  • Less redness (here for my babes with acne, eczema, and rosacea).

Where to find me? In my Niacinamide Body Scrub, to gently improve texture and help fade the look of uneven skin tone while you exfoliate.

Vitamin B5, also known as panthenol

Famous for:

  • Improving moisture retention.
  • Healing properties.
  • Soothing redness and inflammation.

What you'll notice:

  • Plump, glowy skin. Your crush might call you "luminous".
  • That pimple you picked forgives you and heals faster.
  • Your itchy and damaged skin feels better.

Where to find me? Check the ingredient list on your favourite frank body product. Panthenol shows up more often than you'd think.

Remember, babe. You can always find juicy ingredient details in my ingredient glossary. Happy learning.
