#letsbefrank, a lot of babes love a suntan. But sometimes it has to come from a bottle. And there's absolutely nothing wrong with that. Here are some tips to make it look as natural as possible.
First things first: I think the skin you were born with is pretty beautiful. But I get it. Sometimes you just want a tan when you get around in your short shorts. And faking it beats sun baking and lying in a solarium any day.
You want a streak-free, golden glow? Here are six tips to get you there.
1. Scrub before you rub
For your tan to go on evenly, you need an even base. So hop in the shower and scrub yourself from top to toe with my Original Coffee Scrub. This helps remove any dry, flaky skin that could cause your tan to look patchy.
2. Protect the problem areas
You can leave a little oil residue on your skin to help minimise streaks. Mix your tan with a little moisturiser and take special care on your knees, elbows, ankles, wrists, and hairlines. These are the obvious tell-tale spots for fake tan.
3. Sort your hands
Scrub your hands carefully with me again to remove any excess tan from your hands and knuckles. Orange palms are a no-no.
4. Wear something dark
Let's not stain the couch, bedsheets, and your favourite cotton PJs. An all-black onesie is your best bet. Rock it 'til morning.
5. Rinse properly
Use a light body wash to remove any fake tan scent that lingers, and reach for my Original Coffee Scrub on any areas that are too dark or streaky. But if you followed the guidance above, there shouldn't be any.
6. Maintain and remove
After about a week, depending on the quality of your tan, you may start to look a little patchy. Let's save the snakeskin effect for your boots. Get scrubbing to remove stubborn tan and even out your skin tone. Or scrub your whole body clean and start the process again.
