A few things come to mind when we think of the Big Apple: pizza, the Statue of Liberty and Donald Trump. And #letsbefrank, they’re not for everyone. So I’ve come up with a few ideas of my own for New Yorker babes who have been there for life, or are just there for the summer. That’s just the kind of guy I am.
Bushwick Flea Markets
You spot an oversized fluffy number from a distance, only to have your dreams shattered when another babe (with similar, exceptional taste) snatches it from in front of you. At the Bushwick Flea Markets you can leave your body slam at home. It’s a market made for locals: around 50 vendors selling antiques, vintage threads and handmade bric-a-brac, without the mob of tourists. Plus, there’s live music on Sundays.
52 Wyckoff Avenue, Brooklyn
Shakespeare in the Park.
Babe, it’s time to expand on your “to be, or not to be” Shakespearean lines. And where better to do it than in NYC’s Delacorte Theater in Central Park. The Public Theater’s Shakespeare in the Park has attracted over five million tourists with its free events over the summer break. Tickets are given out on the day of the show, so get in early to score your place.

Sweatshop.
You can’t hustle in NYC without coffee. And you can’t get good coffee without an Australian. Sweatshop is a studio-slash-espresso bar run by two guys from Melbourne (my hometown). And for one week over summer, I’ll be taking over – frank style. There’ll be coffee in a cup and coffee-based skincare for my NYC babes. For those who are out of town, you can keep up with me on Snapchat at frankbod.
Monday 20 June – Friday 24 June

MoMA’s Warm Up series.
One for my artsy babes. The Museum of Modern Art’s Warm Up is an outdoor music series that takes place every Saturday in MoMA’s PS1 courtyard. From hip-hop to electronic, every babe’s musical tastes are covered.
Every Saturday
June 11 – August 27
3pm – 9pm
11 West 53 Street, New York
Refinery Rooftop
#letsbefrank, espresso martinis taste better when you’re at a higher altitude: on a rooftop, like the Refinery Rooftop for example. The 3,500 square foot rooftop above the Refinery Hotel in the Garment District has clear views of the Empire State Building. Every third Sunday the hotel holds a special culinary event. One upcoming theme is BBQ night. Just the thing for my Aussie babes who want a slice of home.
63 West 38th Street, New York
While I can’t guarantee the weather, I can guarantee two things: good times and good skin. Good times involve all of the above. Good skin? That involves me. Summer is a time for experimenting and I have just the thing. The Grind High Club is my limited edition travel kit. Ready to travel the four corners of your bod. So you can explore the four corners of New York.
