Exercise is great to get your blood flowing and heart pumping. You know it’s great for your health, fitness and booty #letsbefrank, but it’s also great for your skin. That’s because it helps to nourish your skin cells and keep them vital. It also helps to carry away waste products.
When you sweat your body excretes toxins through your pores. FYI: That’s the bad stuff that causes pimples. But if you exercise with make up on all of those toxins have no where to go. You’ll spend the next hour getting hot and sweaty, while toxins, bacteria & make up build up on top of your open pores. Guess where they go next? In to your pores.
So make sure you exercise bare faced, unless you’re outside in which case pop on some SPF. That includes light exercise like walking and yoga. Be sure to wash your face after wards and apply a light weight moisturiser.
Want to get your blood pumping extra hard next time you work out?
Try these 3 great moves.
1. Treadmill sprints: Jog for one minute, sprint for 30 seconds. Repeat this for a total of 15 minutes. Do this twice a week.
2. Plyometric training: Translation: jumping. Do 10 squat jumps, 12 split squat jumps and 100 jumping jacks (repeat three times) three times a week. If you don’t know what these moves are, youtube offers lots of tutorials.
3. Stretching: Stretching is one of the best ways to reduce stress (which can have a positive impact on your skin) and flush out toxins. Aim to stretch every second evening for 20 minutes. Do it while you’re watching TV on scrolling through Instagram. Easy.
