Right now in my home country Australia, people are voting on marriage equality. As a proud supporter of the LGBTIQ community I have one word: YES. To show my support I’ve enlisted the help of babe’n photographer Charlie Brophy. Together we went into the homes of three couples from the LGBTIQ community to find out what love is to them. Here’s Mary & Kristen.

If the ‘yes’ vote does go through, I’m crossing my coffee beans for you that it does, how will it change the future of LGBTIQ (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Intersex & Questioning) people living in Australia?
We think marriage equality will help dissolve the ‘otherness’ associated to LGBTIQ. The law dictates much of what culture perceives as right or wrong, passing it through will hopefully lead to inclusion in all areas.
Will you get hitched? If so, how do you imagine it?
We don’t want to get married.. but spiritually we’re already wives.
What is love to you?
Love is a moment in time of complete presence, being in love is sustaining that presence.
